One system, not three apps

What does MileStone actually do?

"MileStone connects three things most apps treat separately: long-term goals, the milestones that break them down, and the daily habits that hit them."

Set the goal
Name it, give it a deadline, and answer a few reflection questions so future-you remembers why it matters.
Break it into milestones
2–5 checkpoints with target dates, each holding the concrete steps — with hours, costs and dependencies if you want them.
Build the daily habits
Attach the recurring actions that actually move the goal — build new ones, reduce old ones, or quit them entirely.
Watch the honest score
One pacing number tells you whether you're actually on track — weighted by hours of work, not ticked boxes.

One app that knows whether you're actually on track — not just whether you ticked boxes.

The number that can't be gamed

What is hours-weighted pacing?

"Hours-weighted pacing is a progress score that weights each task by your estimated time — not by task count."

Most apps say you're 60% done when you've ticked 6 of 10 tasks. But if the 4 remaining tasks are the hard 10-hour ones, you're nowhere near 60%. MileStone scores by hours, not ticks — so the number tells you the truth even when you'd rather it didn't.

Every other app
60%
6 of 10 tasks ticked

You ticked the six easy ones. The four monsters are still waiting. This number is lying to you.

MileStone — hours-weighted
32%
16 of 50 estimated hours done

Same goal, honest math. Uncomfortable today — but it's the number that gets you to the finish line.

Real example: "Launch my cafe" — 10 steps, 50 hours. You've done the six quick ones (16 hours). A task-count app celebrates 60%; hours-weighted pacing says 32%, because the fit-out and hiring are the mountain.

MileStone vs the usual suspects

Why not just use Habitica or Notion?

Because they each do half the job. Habit apps never look up from today; Notion makes you build the system yourself. And when you slip, most of them make you feel like garbage.

Senior PM, 32 — runs on systems and discipline

"I described my Q3 goals to Claude by voice, pasted the reply into MileStone, previewed the plan and imported it in one tap — milestones, steps, hours and resources, all structured. That took 4 minutes. My old Notion setup took 4 hours."

"Day 1 vs Day 30. I still haven't finished all my steps. But I open the app every morning and it shows me exactly what to work on next. When I missed a Tuesday it just showed a quiet 💤 — no red cross, my streak stayed safe, and I kept going. That's new for me."

Private by architecture

Is MileStone private? Where is my data stored?

MileStone keeps your goals, habits and progress on your own device — they're stored in your browser, not on our servers, and we never see them. There's no account to use the app, and no analytics, tracking or cookies inside it. The only thing that touches our server is your license key, to confirm your subscription. Payments are handled securely by LemonSqueezy.

One honest caveat: MileStone needs a connection to open — the app itself loads from the web. Once it's loaded, everything you do stays on your device.

Frequently asked questions

What is MileStone?
MileStone is a goal and habit planner that connects daily habits to long-term goals with honest, hours-weighted pacing. Free to start with 3 goals, 3 habits and 3 milestones per goal. Pro from $9/month or $97 lifetime. Works in any browser, installs as a PWA on your phone, and needs no account to start.
How is MileStone different from Habitica or Habitify?
Habitica and Habitify are habit trackers — they handle daily habits but have no goal hierarchy, no milestones, and no project planning. MileStone connects long-term goals, the milestones that break them down, and the daily habits that hit them. No gamification, no streak shaming, and an honest progress score that can't be gamed.
How does AI goal planning work?
MileStone works with the AI you already use — ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Copy the built-in planning prompt, describe your goal in plain language (voice works), and paste the AI's reply back into MileStone. It imports as milestones, steps, hour estimates and resources, with a preview before anything is committed. Because the conversation happens in your own AI chat, your plans never touch our servers.
What is "hours-weighted pacing"?
Hours-weighted pacing is a progress score that weights each task by your estimated time, not by task count. Most apps say you're 60% done if you've ticked 6 of 10 tasks — but if the 6 you ticked were quick 2-hour jobs and the 4 left are 7-hour jobs, you're 12 of 40 hours in: 30% done, not 60%. MileStone scores by hours, not ticks, so the number can't be gamed.
Does MileStone work offline?
Honest answer: MileStone needs a connection to open — the app itself loads from the web. Once it's loaded, everything you do is stored on your device, in your browser. A full offline shell is on the roadmap; today, think of it as "loads from the web, lives on your device."
Do I need an account to use MileStone?
No. Open it and start planning — no signup, no email, no password. The only thing that ever touches our server is a license key, if you upgrade to Pro, to confirm your purchase. Payments themselves are handled by LemonSqueezy.
Is there a free version?
Yes — the free tier gives you 3 goals, 3 habits and 3 milestones per goal (3 steps each), forever. It's enough to run the entire flow before paying anything. No card required, no account needed.
How many devices can I use Pro on?
One license key activates Pro on up to 3 devices at a time — say phone, laptop and tablet. You can deactivate a device in the app's Settings whenever you like, which frees that slot for another device.
How much does MileStone cost?
Free to start. Pro is $9/month, $24 every 3 months ($8/month), or a one-time $97 payment for lifetime access. The lifetime option pays for itself in 11 months compared to monthly.
Is lifetime really forever?
Yes — one $97 payment, no subscription and no expiry, and every future update is included. Your goals and habits live in your browser, so they stay yours no matter what.
Can I switch from monthly to lifetime later?
Anytime. Buy lifetime whenever you like, then cancel the subscription in the billing portal. Your data carries over untouched — it never left your device.
What happens when you add new features?
Every plan gets new features as they ship, and lifetime includes all future updates at no extra cost.
Who makes MileStone?
MileStone is made by CodeMilestone, a small independent software studio based in Queensland, Australia. CodeMilestone is the parent brand; MileStone is the product. No VC, no growth team — just a tool its maker uses every day.

Stop tracking. Start pacing.

Three goals, three habits, three milestones each — free, forever, no account. If it clicks, Pro is one honest price away.
